    Diesel in the oil

First of all, a nod to the silver 2a with the AULRO sticker in the Yeerung River car park on Thursday.
OK, had a few problems with the '03 2a TD5 losing power and belching black smoke above 3000rpm on the way to Marlo this week. It also seemed that the turbo waste gate was opening each time it happened.
Did a fuel top-up before we went, and fuel economy had risen to about 20L/100km and I thought nothing of it other than SWMBO's lead foot ... currently sitting on about 16L/100km.
Anyway, checked the oil level at Marlo and the dipstick is way overfilled, and oil feels soapy. From research it could be anything from a leaking fuel pressure regulator to a cracked head. Is there any way of narrowing the problem down from these symptoms?
    TIA, sanbar

Hopefully it'll be something as simple as leaking injector seals.

You can run the engine with the cam cover removed & have a look. Chances are that you might have to do the seals first & hope that's the fix. Have a close look at the head when the injectors are out.

Like Scott says, more than likely injector O rings, or possibly an injector itself leaking through the body of the solenoid. If nothing obvious, then injectors need to be removed and seals replaced. While injectors are out, carefully inspect the bore of each injector well, I have seen a crack in the head there before

It is an URGENT check Sanbar.
The motor can run out of control on its own diesel fumes from the sump if it is dieseling the oil.
Usually results in the destruction of the motor.
    Get it looked at ASAP.

    Diesel leaking

Running the engine with a diesel Oil Dilution wouldn't do the engine bearings much good either. Cheers George

Yep, rooted the camshaft and three rocker arms. Everything else appears OK ... at the moment.

Cam shaft is still away having the hardened surfaces reinstated. Rocker arms are having new rollers fitted. Injector guys have found some sort of anomalies with the injectors. Three weeks and no car, and school starts in just over a week.
Sad thin is, even with half the head sitting on the boot floor down at the mechanic's workshop, she's still a good-looking jigger.

Does anyone know of a source for injector rocker arms? Ones we were sent were rusty, and the mechanic reckons we will now have to source them overseas. That could be another bloody month.
