    ABS

    Gday All

I did a power bleed today to change all the brake fluid to new stuff and got to the last wheel and stuffed it by not keeping the tank topped up enough..

I had to bleed them normally in the end as i couldnt get the pump to pump fluid thru..I re-bled the brakes and drove the car and it stops ok, but was wondering if I have done something to the pump would the ABS light stall lit on the dash..

I will give it another try with the pump, but will the brakes still work if the pump is RS..

    Hope that all makes sense..

    Thanks and Cheers Ean

All sorted, took the car for a drive after a re-bleed, and went down a hill with HDC and they all worked..

I did a brake fluid change, but didnt have the guts to try the power bleed.
Instead I did a handyman change using a 1 man bleed kit.
You have inspired me to give it a go next service.

I got a PM with a way to bleed them by basically using a on/off switch where the ABS relay is, and turning it on/off whilst lying behind the wheels, great when it worked, but just got distracted and next thing the tank was very low..

Managed to change all the fluid, and the brakes seem to be working again

So you didnt use the Nanocom to power bleed???
It can do the ABS and ACE.

I reckon you could do ACE without a nanocom,,

the ACE pump runs all the time so its basically a case of remove any line and place in a bucket,,
just keep topping up untill the expelled fluid changes colour,,

    any naysayers?

that works.. but remember you have to actuate all the cylinders to get all the fluid out of them as well..

my prefered method is to change what you can (drain to a bucket)

then cycle the system a bit and repeat the drain procedure.

it can take a couple of goes but providing you do the change before the oil is totally shot you generally only need to do it twice.
