It is likely your compressor packed up prematurely as it had been working too hard, due to an undiagnosed leak in one of your bags.
I like the SLS too much to replace it with coil springs.

    Hi biggin

Yep the compressor has been over worked with leaking airbags but not undiagnosed. As indicated I was out bush and you get not option but to drive out on the bump stops. Car was chock full. 5 people, 2 heavy 30sec tents, roofrack and all the camping gear etc. Hours of crawling over corrugations is no fun. I would suggest that if you plan on going anywhere that is a couple of days away from civilisation and if your bags are anything over 4years or so age then take a spare with you. Light weight and packs down. I like the air but if you want trouble free then change to coils. SWMBO insisted on getting a new playdough (wash my mouth out) after that trip. I was supposed to sell the disco but I keep finding excuses. Funny how you can't part with an old friend!

May have misread your thoughts Biggin. There was quite a time lapse perhaps 2 years between when the compressor went and the first air bag needing replacement if that is what you mean so I can only put the failure down to the extra load of a caravan on the tow ball or good old red dust.

a spare bag and a schrader valve would see you, home off the bumpstops, 100% of the time.

This whole project would be so much easier if I could GET THE WHEEL OFF!!

Anyone driving around bris with a spare "G" wheel nut key and a decent wheel brace?

Turns out the clowns that did the brakes have A) overtightened the nut, bent the key out of shape. Now it is loose and slipping and doing nothing but damaging the nut! The lever it came with is pretty bad also.. eww.

    HELP!

The D2 wheel nut locks are made of cheese,,
Quite a few of us have already thrown them away.

    Cheese huh?

I believe it! (doesn't taste like GOOD cheese though)

I got it off (destroyed tho). I'll post a pic. Tried a few different ways and ended up sacrificing a big old socket.

The keys have a letter stamped on them Rosscoe.. "G" was on mine.. and the nuts.

Baffle.. did you mean you have one that you don't want anymore? Or were you offering me the use of it? I'll grab it if you don't need it!!

    Cheers

    Wil

    ---- edit ----

Here's the pic. Totally trashed the nut, but got it off. Cut two bits or steel rod and sat them in the grooves of the lock nut then smashed the socket over the top with a hammer. Bingo!
