Oh yeah! Done!! Beeeeooooootiful! Nice to have suspension again!

Now.. I'm down 1 wheel nut till I acquire a replacement.. Am I going to do anything bad if I need to drive it on 4 nuts? Also, anyone got any anti-seize compound recommendations? Never used it before. Don't want to have any dramas getting them off again. Does anyone else bother with it? How about nut tension.. should I get a torque wrench onto them? My old cars i just used my feet.. but I care more about this one

Next one I'll do MINUS the rain and mud! I actually had to set up a tarp over the Canyonero so I didn't drown!

Noticed a fair bit of rust in the center .. is that bad? looks VERY orange.

You'll finally be able to take advantage of the Disco's famously overengineered wheelnuts

I'll let the Techies argue about Nm's,,,

    just,,

    DO IT UP

with the tool you carry around that will have to

    UNDO it

Yep do em up by hand not with a rattle gun. Lean on the wheel brace a little but don't over do it. Just lean on it the same amount for each nut you do up, don't need science. Most of us have had them ruined when we get replacement tyres and the rubber shop takes to them with their rattle guns, kiss good by to your locking nuts. Could borrow a nut from your spare wheel on the back if you want to be real safe prior to getting a replacement.

    if that helps any.
You dont need to take the wheels off when you jack the car up and rest on 600mm stands.

The only hard bit is undoing the air hose, I worked out if you tack the line from the Comp. drain the bag then lift and twist.
Bag cames out and then you can get a spanner on the nut out comes the bag did both bags in 1Hour 45 mins nd thing the first one took hour of that coz I it took me so long to think of releasing the air from the Comp.

And if you need Springs from the US for $268 + 60 AUS post from Arnotts

I have had the same issues as strangy, have gone through about 4 sets of bags from arnotts, the set I have in there now on one side has started to come away from the retaining ring from the track at the Vic 4wd show. I am now waiting on a set from Rovacraft, they are on back order, happy to pay a bit extra as they are only 5 mins from home. A bit of peace & mind.
Will, I have also changed my lock nuts over as my lock nut had started to tear, didn't want to have to change the wheel in the bush!!
Well done on changing them over, you will be happy with the result as I too wanted to retain the sls. All worth it in the end. (I hope)

Well I finally got the lock nuts off! Local tyre shop buzzed them off for me with a rattle gun. Looked pretty bad once they were off. Got a used set from Baffle here on the forum, but for now will run with the non lockers on everything except the spare.

Interestingly.. the socket i used to hammer over the first lock nut (see pic in earlier post) sustained NO damage once i finally got them separated! Built like a tank.. unlike the wheel nut.. it was mangled!

Hey Rosscoe, I still have the dead airbag if you want it still, otherwise I'll bin it. PM me if you do. It looks to me like it just died of old age, there was a patch about the size of a couple of 50c pieces that was leaking air. Guess I'll put it down to rubber fatigue.

at this stage i think just bin it. thanks anyhow.
i have a pair of good second hand ones as spare now thanks. i was looking at trying to get them repaired, but the price for a pair of new dunlops landed here for less than $350 makes it not really worth trying to repair them.
i will still go down the compressor path, see if they are repairable though.

Just got Dunlop bags from Paddock Spares in UK on special for GBP 68 - about $110 each plus shipping was their web special and they said they had plenty in stock.
