Thread: Nanocom Evo problem

In a Nanocom Evolution, The 12V is, after filtering / protection used by some OBD circuitry, but otherwise is regulated down to 5V by an industry stadard switched mode PSU circuit to which the possibility of supply by USB is added.

Therafter there is a regular LDO liniar regulator for the 3V3 rail which supplies almost all the Processors and Logic chips.

My bad. Autographics controls the illumination on the shifter.

Check under the Transm-lock-warn settings that Transmission is set to Auto
AND
Check under Instrument Pack settings that Transmission is set to Auto.

If these have set to manual the shifter position won't display.

You wouldn't have been installing a new/used cdl shift lever and cutting wires by any chance?

Haven't cut wires yet. Was planning on finding a later ECU for it.

I don't think a wire cut would make any difference anyway - even if you got the wrong one.

Did the auto gear selected disappear before or after the lever install?

After, also drove around half the day with a very annoying bong bong bong sound. Until I realised I had the HDC button pressed in...

Reset the auto settings and display came back so all good there.

NEVER work on your car to stay awake for a sleep deprevation test. I came back to it this morning after being awake from 6am tuesday until 2pm wednesday. I though "I'll use the time to stay awake and fit the new CDL lever" Well I fitted the lever, made an awesome neoprene boot for the underside to stop the crap and hot air coming through and then left it in a state of disrepair when I had to leave to go to the doctors for some tests. Walked out to it on Thursday morning to take the kids to school and was a little shocked to say the least.

Can somebody please confirm that the evo should self start when either plugged into the OBDII port or the external power supply.


My unit will not fire up with either, or both, cables connected.


However, when plugged into my PC via the USB cable I have no problems, and I successfully upgraded the software from v1.25 to v1.27 since this issue arose.


This has only been a problem in the last couple of months and has the Evo previously worked okay other than the usual comm's issues.


I have 12v at the accessory socket and the OBDII plug, so no blown fuses.


Any ideas?

Yes, the EVO should self start when plugged in (On my Td5 at least). Maybe an issue best brought up with Blackbox (if Colin still looks in here that is).

Yep they should self start when plugged in the the obd port on the car.

I can't advise further but would also suggest logging onto the nanocom forum as well, see what's there and post your problem there as well.
