Extension Cable for Gap iiD Tool in D4

I have a Gap iiD Tool BT for the D4. Sometimes I use it for reading live values such as coolant temperature and oil temperature.
However when installed to the D4's OBDII port, it's quite close to the right foot.

I am looking at extension cables and have been advised by Gap to be careful regarding quality, so I'm relunctant to go for a cheap eBay one.

Does anyone have experience with good quality OBDII extension cables?
I have come across this one that at least reads well online and is an Australian website.
Probably not made here but at least has a warranty and returns policy.

Another version from the same place with a flat ribbon cable:

I wonder if the ones I have for my Nanocom would work?

Ron, if they have SAE J1962 16 pin connectors that pass each pin through directly from plug to plug then probably yes.

Gap have come back to me with a store they use in Germany for various OBDII bits and pieces:
    https://www.obd2-shop.eu
However, they don't seem to supply either the right angle plug or the ribbon cable version, so not much use (still sticks out from port).
Also they don't accept credit card payment so an international bank transfer is required. Too difficult.

This US store looks good too:
    Cable Right Angle OBD2Cables.com
The cable is good value but the shipping is very expensive. $10 cable + $45 shipping.

So in the absence of other recommendations, I'll try one of the cables from Zoxoro.com.au that I initially posted.
    Ribbon Cable $44 delivered
    Right Angle Plug $42 delivered

    Cheers,
    Scott

Re Germany, I've found a few places still charge the 19% VAT, they can't remove it.

I actually noticed the pricing reduce at check-out once an Australian address was entered 12.50 > 10.50 and that equates pretty closely to 19%.
But no credit card option is a deal breaker.

Did your Nanocom cables come with the tool or separate purchase? Looking on the Nanocom website I found this:
And a right-hand version too. Part numbers NCOM25 and NCOM26 respectively.

They look good and can be purchased individually for $29 + $41 shipping + 3% credit card surcharge = $72

So this is a presumably good quality but very expensive option.

    Cheers,
    Scott

Right, not purchasing from Zoxoro. Placed an order, accepted payment and then emailed to say that they cannot source the item. I find that very annoying, verging on false advertising in my opinion. But at least a refund has been offered.

So I'm looking to purchase either:
this Right Angle cable from OBD2Cables.com for ~$82AUD.
or the Nanocom version for ~$72AUD.

While the cables are good value, the shipping is expensive. However the shipping is the same for two cables and almost the same for three cables.

Is anyone interested in getting one and splitting the shipping cost?
The cost to you for a cable would be as follows:

If 2 Cable Order = $64AUD assuming about $12 for me to post to you
If 3 Cable Order = $59AUD assuming about $12 for me to post to you
But the posting me-to-you could be saved if you live in Brisbane.

So not a huge saving really compared to a single Nanocom, considering the messing around. Probably only worth it for a 3 cable order I think and/or people in Brisbane.

    Cheers,
    Scott

Decided to go out on a limb and buy a couple extra of these ones:
2ft Right Angle Cable from OBD2Cables.com

Well it works! And tucks away neatly above the pedal trim panel. Here it is plugged in, no where near your foot.

In order to attached the iiD Tool you just fish out the cable from the opening in the trim panel, as shown in the photo below.
And then it sits up there on the sound deadening stuff when in use.
    I'm calling that a win.

Stupid question of the day.... so if you leave you iiD BT Tool on all the time, you can adjust the suspension height on the go? Does that mean you would still use the LLAMs or does it make in redundant if its always attached to you phone (or tablet) via BT

    cheers
    Andrew
