Yeah, chatting to Wooders who deals in them on this side of the country, he was saying that as long as the jibber is OBDII compatible it should work.

Called them up today. Apparently there are some probs with them on the Td5. They didn't seem to know why since the ECU is OBDII or whatever. I was interested in it because of it being ale to clear the bloody errors....3 amigos etc. All the rest doesn't really matter to me that much, it's economical, doesn't break down (Ohhhhh should I say that?????) and has all the power I need.

yes this is what i'm looking at for our new defender...people in the uk are using them

you have to get scano guage 11 for it to work.......would like the nicer one that does all the dino stuff, but bit pricey for the amount we will use it.

I just want it to clear codes if need be when in the bush
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

I have the Scan Gauge II plugged into my 110, sits on top of the steering column and displays all sorts of interesting info.

    Cheers,

    Question Scangauge 11

    Hi all

I spoke to Dave at Wooder's garage today regarding the scangauge 11 and whether it will work with my Discovery MY Nov2000 TD5 auto. He said that he did not know about my model but was sure it was OK with the Discovery TD5 after 2002. He has offered to send me one with a full moneyback guarantee to try it but it is still going to cost me postage each way if it doesn't work.
I wonder if someone has used this gauge on my model as I have the three amigos grinning at me and would like to get rid of them. I live in Newman WA and the only place I can access to a Landrover dealer to rectify the problem is Geraldton 10 hours away.
I was also wondering if the scan gauge is not an option then what can I buy to monitor the computer and clear trouble codes.

    Thanks

    Ken

    Hi Ken,

I have no personal knowledge, but I ordered a Scan Gauge for my V8 from the distributor earlier this week, and he told me at the time that it was not compatible with TD5s.

    scan gauge II

I am thinking of getting one of these--
ScanGaugeII - Scan Tool + Digital Gauges + Trip Computers

The new ones can display other info,,
I quite like the idea of Volts, auto temp and coolant temp being on display.

My only concern is,, if the dash temp gauge takes the same info (cos we all know the dash gauge wont save the engine from meltdown) how accurate could the data be??

    And NO!
I WILL NOT be displaying $$ per kilometre,,
