You have just found the "Police Pack" headlights. Mine flash continuously when I put it in gear but there is a next setting which is for the Daytime Running Lights. I use mine with a switch so I can turn these off, if required. Just change back to 'Not Fitted' to turn these off permanently.

You have me intrigued about the chimes bit though. I may have to do some more testing to see where its all going wrong.

I am not the expert on Nanocom or the settings for the BCU. I am just using the process of elimination.

Maybe someone else can look at it.

    Hi feral,

Thanks for all your input so far.

I am also a novice when it comes to the Nanocom. Slowly learning.

I cannot get rid of the 6 chimes.

The attached file shows the only setup where the only problem is the chimes.

    Any others create further problems.

I didn't mention previously that the previous owner put on a new bull bar, and as such there are no front fog lights.

You mentioned that you like the chimes. Do they turn off when you buckle the seat belt. Mine doesn't.

I will continue to experiment with different setups.

    Dave.

Just a thought, have you got the latest version of software on your nanocom (v2.05)?

I had a similar experience with chimes when running an earlier version (v2.04 i think); after making a change to speed lock I found 'other' settings had mysteriously changed too causing chimes, took me ages to convince nanocom to accept the correct settings, everytime I read the settings I got a different answer; problem went away with v2.05.

    maybe worth checking ?

    Unwanted chimes

Hi, thought I would get this thread going again because I am in some minor strife with the Nanocom.

I wanted to turn off SLS temporarily while I sort out a dead compressor, so I made the change in the Valeo BCU, but unfortunately the Nanocom quietly changed a few more things that I didn't ask for, like police mode, speedlock, spe, and all sorts of annoying chimes.

Anyway, I managed to set everything back the way it was because I stored a text file of the initial read settings, but I still have the 6 chimes on ign on, which will not go away no matter what.

    Nanocom 1 with software v2.05. 2000 TD5 D2.

Did anyone ever sort this out? Do you have to hold your head in a certain way or put your hand in the air, or is there a secret chant you have to do???

    Any clues appreciated, thanks,

    Terry

See if you can find someone to update the firmware on the Nanocom for you. I had an updater but unfortunately sold it when I sold my One. I know a couple of other people had them and I'm sure will be happy to do the upgrade for you.

Failing that you should very seriously consider buying the updater hardware from BBS.

The last version v2.08 firmware is significantly better than the pre-BBS versions and you will save yourself a lot of trouble in the long run.

Dad's D2a has just started the same thing.

He was checking his exhaust manifold studs, and accidentally knocked something, tripping the fuel cutout switch and setting off the hazard lights.

Reset the cutout, and all ok. ........... Except for the blasted 6 chimes on ignition.

Nanocom Evo shows no recorded faults. Except a "pump line 1 - monitor" flashes up for a second or two.

Front right wheel sensor gave a much higher reading that the others which were all equal.

Testing with the multimeter shows them all to be ok.

According to RAVE there are six things that can trigger warning chimes. SLABS/ABS will give three chimes.

Sound request number Sound functions Priority (1 = lowest, 6 = highest)
    0 Off 1
    1 Seat belt warning 6
    2 Key-in warning 3
    3 SLABS/ HDC warning 4
4 Transfer box in neutral warning 5
    5 Lights on warning 2
Double check the settings and make sure they are OK.

    Thanks Offtrack,
    I will look into that.
I think I bought an updater of some sort from Mattia for the 05 update.
Can't remember where it is or if it can be used. It didn't look at all like the pic you linked to.
    Cheers,

    Terry,

there are a couple of leads in this thread:

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/electronic...te-2-06-a.html

I'm sure there were a few others who either had a pickit2 they could use or bought the updater.

    cheers
    Paul
