According to the toyota website a dual cab 79 GXL is 95k Drive away. So they are cheaper, but clearly don't have coils etc. But ineos also don't have a meaningful dealer or support network!
Also the toyota has a 130l tank....
And an entire industry built around supplying stuff for them...
As LR owners we know what its like to not have dealers lol, for me on paper the quartermaster is better value sure its not perfect but for what you get the tojo doesn't come close.
Been out long enough now and there are plenty getting used and abused, still too rich for my blood but if i had a lazy 100k i wouldn't look at anything else except maybe a Fuso/Canter 4x4 truck but thats a different segment again.
I think that's the key. If they actually do continue to sell them in trialmaster spec at 100k drive away, then they do offer a reasonable value statement. Or at least enough that they are worth consideration.
The issue is that when I was checking it was 135 for a trialmaster total base drive away. Add a colour and the bull bar and you were at 140. If you wanted anything else it was up from there. As we know, when you get them home and start tailoring things it's easy to throw a motza. And they come with a 90l fuel tank. FFS. At 140k double FFS
I do not consider that this is at all good value. IMHO if I was spending that much there are many cars I would consider first.
The base unit is only $90,000 drive away with tub or tray.
