Apparently Ford are bringing this vehicle in to dodge the new emission regs.

I doubt they will be less than $100K

This is interesting, back to Grenadier topics

Popular 4WD avoids safety tech mandate

The 2025 Ineos Grenadier will be exempt from having car-to-car Autonomous Emergency Braking (AE fitted as standard, despite new Australian Design Rules (ADRs) mandating all new vehicles must be sold with the safety technology from March 1.

I assume a Grenadier is classed as a commercial vehicle so some rules do not apply - like most of the utes now used as family cars.

Still a lot cheaper than the big yank trucks, seen the price on those - some are over 300K

Then add the upgrades to do what they were meant to do,pull the big weights legally.

Correct... Ineos stated that the GVM is 3550kg so as to exceed the magic 3500kg limit. It also thus gained exemption from the lux. car tax.
I've just completed installing an aftermarket Brown Davis 68L aux. tank which in addition to the main 90L tank, should, on current estimates, provide a comfortable range of 1400km with an "emergency" 150km reserve.

That extra tank will make it an excellent tourer, did they need to modify the exhaust or fit a custom muffler box ?

The large rear muffler, which has one inlet and two outlets.... one each side of the vehicle, is removed to make way for the tank. A length of 3" exhaust pipe with a 90 degree bend is clamped to the remaining exhaust and utilises an existing exhaust hanger. This exhaust pipe extension is supplied with the kit. The muffler deletion makes no discernible difference to the noise from the vehicle, in my case, the diesel variant.... It's still quiet. There's no "drone" at highway speed. There's a muffler, plus cat converter/dpf in the exhaust line to reduce the noise. Petrol versions are somewhat different and a replacement muffler may be needed when aux. tanks become available. I've got no info. on that at present

It was a DIY effort. I had great assistance from my helo maintenance engineer son... I.e. mainly, he allowed me to watch and hand him sockets etc at the correct moment. I've always tried to be meticulous... I must admit he takes the meaning of the word to a whole new level!
We did it without a hoist, removed both rear wheels and with jack stands under the chassis rails, there was more than adequate room. I'd previously run the wiring from the dash console to the rear wheel well for switches, transfer pump etc which saved some time...but it's still a bit of challenge and took pretty much a full day.
Once completed, I had to get it inspected and a compliance plate was fitted to the vehicle to satisfy the Qld TMR Dept.
