<span style="color:red">Reviving this thread</span>
I know there are a lot of aviation buffs out there but I have forgotten who you all are. So tell me.
For those in the Brissie area - I was thinking we could do a run (LR convoys always look good) up to Caloundra to have a look at the Queensland Air Museum.
I haven't any date in mind yet, just gauging interest.
If people were really keen we could do the museum on one day of the w/end and a 4wd trip the other. Or perhaps make each a half-day ?
Check out the QAM website and I'm sure you'll agree it's worth a visit.

Caboolture Air Spectacular
Saturday, 15 May 2004 - Sunday, 16 May 2004
8:00am
Caboolture Air Field
The Caboolture Air Spectacular 2004 is much more than just an air show. Held over the 15th and 16th May 2004, the event encompasses a whole weekend of complete entertainment. With over 3 hours of air show both days, the Caboolture Air Spectacular features some of the southern hemisphere’s rarest and most amazing aircraft, ranging from warbirds, to vintage, mustangs, ultra lights, gyroplanes, gliders and commercial aircraft. To keep everyone entertained there are also exhibitor stalls, markets, an up-market tent city (for those keen on camping!), rally cars, racing, an international food hall, licensed bar areas and… the Ford Bull Riding Championships (being held on the night of Saturday the 15th May 2004). Add to this free child minding and a children’s playground and you have got an event the whole family can enjoy! The Caboolture Air Spectacular… Much more than just an air show! Bus shuttles will operate to and from Caboolture station. Corporate and Gold Pass tickets also available.
