The MJCQ held a "wheels and tracks" day recently in August out Woodford way where the tracked vehicles all had a chance to play on private property. The cost of transport of the armoured stuff and the damage to arena surfaces are the major drawbacks.

You would probably enjoy their "swim in" at Bundy next year. They have armour, and floating armour as well present at that do, plus you get a first hand chance at experiencing all different types of gear.
Next year will feature a "Jeep railway". That should be up your alley!

As for the Canungra weekend:-Did you know that there were a group of re-enactors present at Canungra who were not allowed to "re-enact" because it was deemed by the local authorities that the sound of pyrotechnics would "disturb the peacefulness and serenity" of the valley. (The fact that there is an Army Camp over the hill didn't seem to enter these petty bureaucrat's little minds!!!)
    Regards
