Hey all, hope you have had a great weekend. Well Fraser here I come , with the gold coast 4WD show, sales at Anaconda & new opening of Nerang disposal store,I have just about everything that I need. Was going to go for a standard tent, but Sharlea talked me into a canvas one ( had no choice otherwise I will be spending alot of "alone' camping time  plus all the other bits and pieces. A big thanks for the tips etc on what to get/ not to get, all I need now is a another car to lug all the stuff 8O > The tent weighs more than I thought and on my own could be a bastard to put up, so going to go camping in front paddock next weekend and give everything a burl and see how it all goes. Looks like I will have to invest in a roof carrier/ racks ( any suggestions) as with me and True and Ash we will be fine for this trip but add Sharlea and youngest one, we will quickly run out of room. Also is there any such thing as a portable carriage barrier ie you can put in and take out with relative ease. Im tellin ya, Im excited, less than 2 weeks now, whhoooo hooooo ,

    Regards

Hey Stevo, glad to see you are set for Fraser. Pretty sure there is a commecially available roof rack for the D3...think I saw a trademan type one in one of the 4x4 mags. Also I would definitely recommend a decent cargo barrier for two reasons when camping, 1, you can pack up to the roof in the boot leaving the passenger space free of clutter and 2, can safe yours and your families lives if the worst happens.....there is a fair amount of heavy camping gear flying around the cabin if it is not restrained properly. Mine has a dual position so I can fold the back seats down and get more boot space.....is also very easy to take in and out if not needed.
Looking forward to seeing you put the tent up on Fraser

    Talk soon, Mick

Don't worry... if it's the standard type of canvas tent they are really easy to put up

I believe there a few different brands on the market but Milford seem to be the best by a long shot. One other thing I forgot as a bonus is they have been known to act as a type of roll cage in a roll over helping maintain the integrity of the cabin space.

Had a quick look at their site and they may not do one for your model yet but worth giving them a call.

Will show you mine the next time I see you.................the cargo barrier that is 8O
