    Day trips

Okay Troops, Anyone up for a couple of day trips prior to the end of the year?
As the next few months are harder for people to get time off for more than a day or so, does anyone have some ideas on some places to visit for a few hours or for the day?
If we put our thinking caps on , we may find a couple of good trips to put to Pete & the powers above for consideration.
Suggestions, Scenic Rim, Ormeau, Crystal Creek, (Idea's)????
    Cheers Dave

    Good Idea Dave.
Mt Mee is sorta dead now, nothing exciting there anymore at they have closed pretty much all the good tracks off. Other good places to go would be Lockyer SF up to Ravensbourne National park and then coming back throught Murphys Creek, some good exciting "moderate tracks" along this way.

Mark (WhiteD3) led an AULRO trip to Lockyer SF last year sometime. They did not include the Murphys Creek section, which is where me and Shamo go all the time when we are not in Brisbane, some great tracks in there.

Scenic Rim is also a great park I think, nice and close by and we didn't do too much of it at DARE.

The club has ran a few trips to Ipswich in the past, I have not been so would be keen to go check that out.
Will try to think of other places to go.

    Thanks Hendrik,

If you have some info on the places you mentioned that would be great.

Been meaning to go back to Lockyer SF for some time and explore. Mt Mee is just a scenic drive these days with all the closures.

    Ipswich

That would be Binnies Rd up that way, good tracks but pretty full-on in some sections (ie not for the timid). Ormeau the same really, 35's are the least to have fun in there these days, well for me that is The times off 31's and unlocked Rangie/Disco have gone the way of the dodo in most places .

Lockyer, done a couple of trips for the RR club years back when I was in the club but haven't been there since. The kind of place the Aqua-Disco is more than capable of doing

Mark, how far is Lockyer from Bris & Gold Coast?
Are vehicles allowed to enter the area of late?

There's some pretty awesome stuff out the back of Old Coach Road right on most peoples back door. Not sure who owns the property or propertys.

Does anyone else know more about the area I'm talking about?

If not I might be able to track down the owners and get permission
