The description (even though a bit vague) on the show was entirely plausible, as was the way that Hammond described having to effect gear changes without the clutch. Have done it myself with many vehicles.[/QUOTE]

I'm doing that at the moment in my '95 defender because my new slave cylinder is yet to show up. I really can't wait until it arrives!!!!

Know where you're coming from mate. Master cylinder in my Disco died a while back on the way down to Perth. Drove from around Northam into Perth and around for a day or so with no clutch until I could get it in for replacement of both master and slave. I learnt that LR clutches can be a mongrel to bleed.

top show, there's no doubt and it's not meant to be serious and that's what makes it widely attractive. After all it is the top rating TV show in the World, and Jeremy (who owns it) and the others are extremely rich as a result. They are the one's laughing ...all the way to the bank. And good on them for creating an interesting and yet semi-informative program that has brought car fantasies to the masses. It is not for the purists, 5th gear is more orientated to that task..

Just can't wait for the new series to appear

aaaah the joys of older RR's. I remember mine well. Every splash and they sneeze.

Strange really given they come from such a wet part of the world.
