Try and keep you shipments under $1000 or you will need to pay Duty
if your buying more than $1000 worth of stuff just make a couple of orders
yeah the Aus$1000 dollar rule also includes the cost of shipping. I have imported heaps of stuff from the USA and a little from Canada. The 1 time I imported from the UK it was with a bit of a shock to get slugged for airport storage from the second they landed + brokerage fees etc...all for 5 wheels and I then had to pay for them to be sent to the GC....even after I had payed for shipping to my address.....they have your stuff and you over a barrel
the beauty of the USA is you can use USPS for about anything and its hassle free.
once the supplier lets me know which company they are going to use, I will ring them and ask what will happen at this end once they land

looks like some good options there, and what was Delores on about....that was Fedex USA
it will depend on what the business im buying from chooses to use, they may not want to use onther companies other than the ones they deal with as to avoid problems that arent theirs so to speak
Serg
If you deal with people like lrseries.com they use fedex and they will give you a quote before you spend
I am getting stuff shipped atm and the cost was 150 (pounds) for approx 18kg of stuff

Over AUD1000 there will be duty and gst, gst is calculated on price in aud + duty+shipping x 10%, so if you buy $1000 of gear and duty is 5% and say shipping is $100 so 1000 x .05 = $1050
shipping + $100
= $1150
plus gst 10% =1150 x 1.10
= $1265
Also note that diesel engine parts are duty free but accessories will be 5-10 % duty.

Mate I get most of my stuff from the home of land rover (no not Delhi) and I go FEDEX or DHL but get them to get you the best quote, after all you are paying the asking price and they should be happy with that and help you out with the last bit
