The libs dont have to play any cards, just sit back and wait.
Rudds failed policies are also Gillards failed policies. If they repeal the mining tax then their whole budget falls apart and new taxes will need to be created.
As for the voice, she can have the most insightful thing to say but it will still sound like torture to my ears.

You don't have to go very far in politics to see it happens on all parts of the spectrum.
Keating ousted Hawke whilst labour was in government then during his honeymoon phase Keating won his one and only election as Prime Minister.
This may well be the future for Gillard.
BTW it's "Et tu, Brute" (You too Brutus) and it was in the Shakespearian play that he says it (almost every day around the World). Whether the real Emperor Julius Caesar actually said the words has been debated for centuries.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
In the interests of not "staying quiet"- let me just say this (Rudism #1)

Some of us vote, based on our principles, in relation to issues of conscience, or, if I may put it another way, on philosophical lines. Although it has become a popular notion that there are no meaningful differences between the 2 major parties in Australia, I feel there are fundamental differences in the mainstream political agendas of our parties in many ways - social equity, to name but one. Hopefully, we all examine principles and beliefs which are important to us, and formulate a political opinion as a result. Alas, I know many who, I consider, vote for a party on a purely self serving basis rather than what I might call the "common good". That is their decision - one, man - one vote. But it is not my way.
I take a pragmatic approach and look to the overall political agenda, rather than being concerned too much, if indeed at all, by individual personalities. I wouldn't invite Mr Rudd to a BBQ at my home - but I do support and vote for the party he represents.
May I finish by saying - good luck to Julia. I hope she has a chance to demonstrate her ability. I have met her and believe she is a person of the utmost decency and principle.
