    RIP Girlbird

    The Chicken died this morning.
She had been my constant companion for more than eighteen years.

She had been a bit off colour yesterday and wanted to spend all her
    time in my hand.
This morning I found her on her back with her feet in the air, she was
    still alive and aware.
So, I put her in my hand and we talked for a while and then she died.

I guess I had better arrange another cremation tomorrow.
    Damn !!!

They say that bad things come in tens don't they.

    Robert.

I'm sorry for your loss. My parents have had several lorikeets that they have rescued and they are great companions. One was hand reared from virtually straight out of the egg. They can be almost human at times.

Sorry to hear it - especially as you seem to be getting the raw end of the deal.

    G'day Olbod

That would have to be an extremely good age for a Scally Breasted Lorikeet
just shows that you have taken good care of her.

    cheers

    Sorry you lost your pet.

We had a scaly breasted lorekeet for a while but we lost it. At one stage we had her in a bugie cage out on the verandah one warm night, and then it started to scream out. We ran out and found a very small carpet snake had gone through the cage wire and was wrapped around her. We got the snake off, and "Greenie" survived. But sadly we lost her many months later.
