Sometimes known as a "dinosaur crane", the turntable allows the tractor to push the crane, for lifting duties, or pull the crane, for transit. These were a common style of crane back when the Blitz was nearly new.

    G'day Folks

Looks like a Fowler type crane unit, these were usually mounted on a tractor type machine, which pushed the crane unit ahead of it,it is a heavy lift unit, these were also mounted on Blitz mid wheelbase trucks as aircraft recovery units on airfields, this one looks like it is on a 101inch wb truck, the grille is from a 45/49 Bedford, a rarity in itself,it looks like the whole unit was removed from a Fowler tractor and just fitted to a SWB Blitz price is interesting but to far away for me

    cheers
