Granted the 200 was nice. I saw a few 200 cop cars. The paj was not suited
no sorry I have several photos that disprove that.
Heres a tip for new players. When you see the water filled tracks that the unimog has made and there are suspicious scrape marks on the surface of the mud between them that resemble
A, diffs
B, winch rope drag marks
C, knee deep foot prints.
DONT drive a landy into those ruts.

Mate - why do you say that about the Paj....with tyres down and if it was placed in 4wd (...) it should do very well on sand. Their tyres are quite good height wise to start with, they do not have their own gravitational field like the 200 and the D3/D4 and if diesel they have a very torquey motor...I think you said at the beginning of the thread it had its tyres up at road pressure..me thinks that is the reason it got stuck. Apart from the rear plastic bumper being unsuited on the NT's they ought to be excellent on sand...
Cheers
PS. Good story though!

Ten years ago new years day at Robe in 2001, we were told to stay clear of low water line on beach and told the rescue cost by one local cop is $750 Ouch.
Guess who we pulled out 2 days later?
Same coppa who told us what he charges for his services.
I usually had a camera in car but the days there were so hot that we left it at the house and that was way before camera phones.
Best recovery we ever did and have gone back to robe over xmas ever since.
