My 3.5 disco handles a 3 and a bit trailer on the main road.
its auto with no hi/low range lever conected.
but the owners manual states 1 tonne off road.:)
yep had one of them and the disco is fast of the line at sedate throttle openings, and puts out more power and torque than the Patrol did :oQuote:
I'll stick to a straight six Jap turbodiesel thanks;)

it had a straight through exhaust at around 2 1/2 inches (disco has the centre muffler deleted) sounded great but what a pain to work on especially the alternator (3 new ones in 3 years :o)Quote:
Legendary Nissan engine, but yes a bit underpowered in factory trim. They sound just right too,
looking at it reminded me of the UD engine PDT6 (same design bloke apparently)
Shamelessly stolen from the OL forum:

At least it was a rental and they could give it back. Met a fellow in Cooktown who did it to his Holden dual cab. His only respite was "at least it happend on the way down.."
But yeah, a pretty expensive impromptu modification. Would it be covered by insurance? I guess not...
