They guy who tightened that rope up and snapped that chassis needs to be in the strong man events :p
Funny but not at all surprising
I found the earlier thread on yet another Triton so I've merged them.
You can't blame the vehicles.I've just come back from Broome,Derby,Gibb River and EVERY single grey nomad was driving a seriously overloaded vehicle,we saw vehicles that dragged the draw bar/tow bar going over the speed humps at woolies, vehicles with twin tyre carriers, boat loaders and boat with caravans stuck on the back wobbling up the highways,we had nothing but overloaded POS being dragged along the Gibb River with deflated tyres doing 20/30ks/hr blowing out tyres, one had the tyre come off the rim as we were passing them and I almost ran the tyre over, the repair center at Broome ARB had 20+ vehicles there waiting to be fixed,a 100 series had it's right front strut tear through the turret and come up under the bonnet, many others sagged either left or right and you could smell the burnt tranny oil on another 100 series from 50 feet away.I've never travelled to an area with so many GN at the same time, you cannot do anything but shake your head at the stupidity. Pat
Found the same. No one has any idea or care what their gvm is, or how to load a vehicle. Most people overload their 4x4 before they even sit in it to drive home from ARB.Quote:

I don't want to insult everyone's relatives here, but I've never seen such a load of idiotic thoughtless clueless incapable know-nothing plain stupid selfish unaware dopey dimwits in my life.
Now every lesson starts with a little explanation about how stupid tourists are and to avoid them no matter what. I think some students find this amusing. Then usually something happens.
I've had them pull out in front, or stop dead on the highway near a curve that roadtrains come through, or walk across in front of us, or park on the main street into town, or tailgate, or panic at the single-lane bridges, speed, or dawdle, do U-turns without looking, park across the middle of the supermarket carpark, drive across the middle line, and basically do everything you're not supposed to, except they do, all the time. So I'm on my toes even more than usual and sort of waiting for the inevitable.
I'm still mystified by how anyone could travel so far and apparently not learn a thing.
Sorry for the rant . . . I think I need a holiday!
That chassis mounted "body mount" should never had been welded to the chassis like that. Should never weld directly across the top or bottom rail of a chassis, could have welded it lengthwise or to the side plate , but not straight across like this, exactly where the chassis has started to crack, Regards Frank.
This pic, Frank? I wonder if that's factory or aftermarket?
