Theres a ripper of a container home in beachworth, they use the roof space as outdoor living area, like you see in the middle east.To look at it now you would not know its built from sea containers.

They are way cool, here is a place in Australia that specialises in them:

Shipping Container Homes Australia, Shipping Container Home, Container Homes, Cargo Homes, Cargo Houses, Container Home Accommodation, Australia, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide
If you do a google search you tonnes of funky images as well for lots of ideas.

    Cheers,

    sea containers

People in Darwin N.T. use the sea container to make homes from because they are Cyclone proof. Mainly down on bush blocks.they join two or three container together to make some nice homes.

Do not know if it is still there, but a few years ago down Ourimbah Street, Tweed Heads, was a very nice Office block for a business, made out of two 40 foot containers. Guess if you were renting a bloc of land when you moved you could take your home/Office/Garage with you, buy hiring a truck to move it for you.

Or if you had a house on a block rent it to pay the mortgage and live in the container on your own block--But I would not go into big debt at the moment.

Many people live in caravan parks. Surely living in a container on a block of land would be a better choice.

Seems a good use of resources, and simple, strong and easy to manage.
