at the moment Im fine but then Im in perth..... till late sunday when I fly out to fly back.

The advice I am getting at the moment is that I still cant get from the airport to the switch due to flooding and am unlikely to be able to untill the water level in brissy drops. our earlier advice to book our flights back untill saturday seems to be sound, we were hoping to get back on the saturday red eye but couldnt get seats till the sunday redeye.

Ive had word from a neighbour who got through to one mile the back way that the power just came on, I was calling him to offer him one of my gennies At the time.

for us it seems that the worst is going to be cleaning out the freezer and the price gouging we're going to cop from the shops.

A BIG Thanks to CC for heading out and throwing the MK I's around on my behalf, his reccy answered about 20 inquiries that Ive got on the boil from other sites and means as well as revealing that our place and both the pooches are OK.

    Dave,

As I drove out of your street the One Mile bridge opened, albeit a little patched. Don't even contemplate Lobb st though.

You can get direct from the airport NOW as that is the way I've just come from. You have to take the Centenary to Yamanto.

Roads are rolling open pretty fast, and most should be good from the weekend.

The Aulroians I know all seem to have had lucky escapes, apart from a few plants. But geez, right next door to them are some pretty unlucky people

yeah bob I got it, but your not setup to recieve PM or something similar...

keep an eye on this thread my main plan is to go do a reccy work out what I can do and then do a quick lunchbox planner at my house and then roll into it for about 48 hours then call it quits as its likely by then work will have found me and I'll get a DACC tasking.

Dave, have an old beer fridge, old fishing upright freezer, nothing to look at but they work, a single bed and mattress just collecting junk, when you do your reccy., keep that in mind ...........[not the beer fridge....]

Dave, I am still in Melbourne, I am hoping to drive home on the weekend if the roads sound like they will be open. I would be keen to help out when I get home.

my apologies everyone, as an SES member here in Ipswich I may have been able to provide some of the information requested. As you all know it has been a busy time around the area with many long and sleepless nights. The river has/is dropping fast and the coordinated cleanup is about to begin.
Today the emergency services are going around door knocking in affected areas to get names and addresses of those affected and in need of assistance. We ask for everyone's patience, for those affected are many and we are few in comparison.

for all those volunteering please stay safe as the community is proud of you all.

for anyone interested in the submerged vehicles I've hit with the floodboat
    1 Lancruiser ute
    1 Lancruiser wagon
    1 Pajero
if they belong to someone here I apologise
