    Bloody great news Damien!

I go quiet for a few months and this is what happens!

A bloke I used to work with who also has T1D copped clots in both legs because we used to fly interstate a bit and he went through the wringer along with lectures on his diet etc, The silly thing was he was very very fit, ran, jogged swam and biked everywhere along with triathlons and other sick weekend activities.

While he was really crook he got a bit out of shape and went on a low carb diet (Atkins) so no sugar of any kind, no flour or carbs like spuds, rice etc.

I left the mob we were working for a bit after he went on the diet and spoke to him before christmas and he is very well and back to punishing himself on weekends wearing colourful lycra.

He said it was very hard initially but got easier as time went on and it all but cured the DVT issues and improved his Diabetes as well.

thought its worth a mention anyway and it makes me feel better bout being a fat bloke who smokes :-)

    Toot when you belt past!

    Tony

Any one with DVT or any type of clots should ask their doctor for a Factor 5 blood test.

Guys, I am on a trip in August to the States & have seen my Doc who has advised me that I will need to carry "Clexane" needles for use while I am OS.
It is my first OS trip, it is also the first with the family & was glad I asked the doc about this, well my wife reminded me anyway.
I have all that sorted but also have to wear the stockings (TEDs), so am enquiring where is the best place to purchase these things relatively cheaply?!
    Cheers

Direct from the manufacturer in Canada?

CAROLON Thigh OPEN TOE Medium Support Hose (15-20mmHg) (eBay item 360145298149 end time 27-Jul-11 02:38:51 AEST) : Health Beauty

My wife is getting a pair of these as the locally available items are limited in sizes and far too expensive.
