The td5 is alive! IN A BLOODY FORD RANGER!

Is it just a random act that ford axed the td5 in the defender and gave it the transit motor and 3 years later are putting in a bored/stroked 3.2L td5(they call it the TDCi l5) in to the new ranger with 147kw and 470nm.
Is this the motor the defender should have gotten or just a pure coincidence?

I always wanted to see the TD5 in 6 cyl guise (it was designed to be a 4, 5, and 6 cyl engine)
It was way ahead of its time once!

It should have been a 3litre 20 valve motor from the beginning! What a motor it would have been!

I always thought it should have been a 3ltr motor if nothing else but to keep up with the japs.

Wow and i thought the hilux and triton were ugly, the new BT50 takes the ugly cake for sure - designer must be blind as a bat.
