    Tolls

Remember there is no toll northbound on the Harbor Bridge, only southbound.

The biggest fault with all these replies is when they get to the F3. Once you get to the F3 follow it to the BEROWRA exit. Then follow the Old Pacific Highway through to Gosford then rejoin the F3. Stop on the way at the Pie In The Sky or Mt White cafe. Get a coffee and chat with the other riders that will be there about your trip. Keep a lookout for a red Honda with plate UGU80.

I'll let her know - I'm sure she will need a coffee (or something stronger) after riding through Sydney.

In the RTA FAQ it also suggests there are special pouches for tags on motorcycles Welcome to Sydney Motorways On the M2 a motorcycle is classified as a 2 axle vehicle (unless a monomotorcycle)
Thanks for that - So if she pops a mono at each toll point she won't need an etag! - Easy - I'll let her know - I'm sure she'll have no issues with that.

But I will make sure the bike is on our toll account before she leaves - just in case she forgets...

If I was driving straigh up there, that is the way I would go, but my wife is riding up as it is something she really wants to do, and she will be staying with friends along the way - I think she is staying in Goulburn on the night before she rides through town, then up the coast - she wants to see parts of Australia that she has never been to, and the coast would be a lot more interesting than heading inland - I think she may be coming home that way - depends on how long she gives herself to get back. She will be on the road for 4 or 5 days getting up there, so there is no rush.

I bet - another reason I live in Melboune - at least between about 10am and 3pm you can get about fairly easily anywhere you want to go.

I am totally averse to paying tolls being firmly of the opinion that roads are built from the common purse for the free use of all. I developed my own ways of getting around Sydney and avoiding tolls which can be a little inconvenient at times.

you do need to be fairly familiar with the city, though.

If she goes via Pie In The Sky, she needs to be very particular about keeping to the speed limit. I used to ride my pushbike up and down the old highway and would watch the constabulary maintaining law and order on that stretch every ride. Good spectator sport!
