There are plenty of us who decided we couldn't purchase anything post (isuzu) county.

I (personally) may own a 300Tdi disco for commuting, but that is as far as it goes (and I would happily swap it for a 4BD1-powered disco).

Unless LR can produce a vehicle that outperforms a 4BD1T 110 on and offroad and is fitted with 33"+ tyres from standard then I am sure that plenty of us will never be purchasing another LR.

Sad, however, that's the way the cookie crumbles....

I have driven a Puma. Love the dash, seats and gearbox. Shame about the engine. I am not holding my breath for D2015.

    No.

But IF Landrover manage to do that then I may thank them for listening to our vitriolic ravings regarding this current, sorry excuse for a replacement.

Actually, at present we know very little about this except what it looks like. The appearance gives some clues, for example, it clearly has excessive insolation, the tyres are unsuitable, and the front does not look very roo friendly*, but really, looks are probably the least important aspect of a four wheel drive. It can be quite good even if it looks awful - and vice versa!

Maybe we ought to wait to judge this until it can be looked at in detail by the motoring press.

    * A bit off the subject, but did anyone else see the news article yesterday about a man who had a 120kg roo come through his windscreen ending up in the passenger's seat - in suburban Melbourne!

    New defender

I Haven't read every post here but i'll throw my two bobs worth in to. Defender has to change to survive and if this concept is a true indication of what it will look like i struggle to see any defender heritage in there. If it is going to have drive train option the same as current D4 that would be a good start. Also i wouldn't mind a independant front if the rear was solid (not a p38) and had air suspension. Even better if they had some aussie engineers working on it that would spec it to take on the TOJO. If this new concept gives us more interior room and ergornomics that also has to be a good thing. 2015 for the release is long way away! Cant understand why so long and why all these other new models but no new defender?

I given up on waiting for land rover to build what i want so i am doing it myself.

Maybe AULRO should give them a list or miniumuim specifications of what we want, seeing we have almost 16000 members as of this morning?

    Cheers

I believe there are only the three actual images from LR. The others that are appearing are most likely photoshopped variations.

    MMmm..It's growing on me...

Oooops , Did I type that out loud?

Disgraceful, bring back no room for your right arm, and hand brake handles that wear a groove in your left leg, and wipers that clean 35% of the windcreen...sometimes, and heaters that are constipated and.....

Yes would love to see the specs.

    My guess list:

    • TdV6....nah, they'll prob just have the 4
    • 6 speed manual
    • ABS/ETC/TRC
    • Auto option
    • Suspension as per Disco (and Disco Chassis?)
