Lybian rebels are fighting a conflict in series landies, defenders, jap crap there are no happy shoppers amongst them so I doubt they would be interested in this silver target

I certainly wont be waving at that defender...

Lets all face it, its the end of the Defender as we know it, chassis, live axles and no safety are the things of the past.

It all comes down to sales and Land Rover don't care what people like us think, because this new car will sell more units in 1 year, than Land Rover did with the defender in 5 years.

And green, this car is going to be so green, that in 10 years time when its ripe, its going to be off.... and you then throw it out, now thats green..

Now for all those smart enough to buy a Defender prior to this god awful excuse, I want you to go out and wash you're investment, change the oil and spray some fish oil on the chassis, because you're not getting another one..

Sorry about that, my rant is over...

    Regards

I want one like this with 5 doors 7 seats, aluminium body, bullbar, room for 35in tyres and a 1 ton payload, not the tiny arched, cosmetically challenged, rounded Computer glob

This was a Ford Bronco concept with photoshopped grill and lights.

Get over it and move on ... or back to a REAL Land Rover

So when Land Rover bring out the new defender that will leave the ''old'' Puma behind in every situation not to mention making the cruiser/patrol look silly like the D3-4 has will you blokes send Land Rover a sorry letter for crap/negative responses you have showered them with even though NONE OF YOU even know what the new defender is going to be?. BUT - they are horrible! Just like an old GT or GTS... They are awful, yet wonderful cars

All this talk of modular bodies, utilitarian etc..

Let's face it - few people chop up a defender... So modular doesn't matter. Plenty of people carve up Rangies and Discos which arent modular!

cause you dont need to chop up a deefer, they're modular.... you just unbolt bits, at worst drill a couple of rivets or spot welds.

I maintain that if you cant clean the WHOLE vehicle with the hose and a deck broom then its not a defender.

I reckon I know what the new defender will look like. By using state of the art computer aided design and the same styling techniques as Land Rover have used on the DC 100, this is my prediction of the final product.

That front is terrible. Don't mind from the front wheel back, but that front..... my GOD!
To me the most iconic part of the defender, the part that's made it through all these years is the front end...
I think this Fiat trumps it easily as the worst front on a car, ever:
