precisely why toyota landcruiser will always be king kong in the eyes os the majority of the world.
    another death rattle for LR.
shame shame shame. could work out well here though, as we are trying to be just like europe with all our stupid laws, once that happens im outta here, i will move to n.z or canada.

i have seen all the wrangler concepts, and they all ressemble a wrangler, not a ifs,irs playboy car,
Each to their own, I drive a puma and I don't know of may parts that would fit mine from an isuzu or 200tdi let alone a series 2.

I don't really like the new DC100 but I wouldn't not buy a current model because of a future concept vehicle. It just means the current ones will be in higher demand in 10 years by true enthusiasts.

Another thing. I would bet that most of those Pumas that are being sold now will never be taken up a track, at least that has been my observation here. There are a large number of them rolling around the city streets, both 110 and 90 versions. Very few of them will need those off-road functions and specs.

Trends indicate that will be more the case in the future, and in the meantime the space vacated Land Rover and Toyota for the small farm truck stakes has been filled by Great Wall, Ssangyong, Suzuki, Daihatsu and Mitsubishi. For example, there are these guys. They sell these:

Not quite the impression I got when I met with the Product Strategy Manager from Land Rover Global Marketing at the Sydney NRMA Motorfest on Australia Day. He was on a tour of Australia to speak to Land Rover users as part of his research to discover the needs for a Defender replacement to suit the unique Australian requirements/conditions.

A group of four or five members of Land Rover Enthusiasts - NSW spent about 3/4 hour discussing various aspects and he was very attentive and appreciative of our input. Business cards were exchanged and on his departure he requested that we contact him direct if we thought of any other aspects that should be considered.

The concept DC100 was introduced (as all concept versions are) to generate discussion - and judging from the number of posts on this thread, it has done exactly that. What is needed though is a more positive approach as to what we want to see incorporated into the 2015 Defender - or whatever it will be named, as it certainly won't continue with the Defender tag.

    Look great, but.
How do you get your passengers in and out of it? especially if they are the old frail variety!

Can't see any wheel chair lifts on there either.

Hmmm a business opportunity, might give them a ring.

Can't speak for all the other Puma owners, but I have done 23,000km in my Puma which mainly consists of off road trips. I catch the train to work, so I bought my Puma for mainly off road and towing duties.

It is covered in bush stratches, has an out of shape steering guard and damaged panels from where the mud flaps have been ripped off. Planning a month long trip through the South Australian Outback later this year.....

i dont hate what it looks like, not keen on the grill, but who cares, anyone into taking it offraod will have that covered bar work.
what i hate is the fully independent suspension and the stupid electrical crap, like a water depth sonar..... what will it do, sound a big alrm and shut the car off and tell you warranty void if you go to deep??? lol, unless it can be deployed via a fishing rod and tell you how deep the water is and display it on the dash??.... lmao, i bet some executive is writing this down hahahahahah well lets just see what they release, i doubt my mind will be changed on the purchase though.
