I suppose I'm just still so miffed at the number who apparently feel $300 is below-them when so many people I know would jump at that money regardless of the job to a large extent.

It is the same in all temp fields I know but... Yeah....

See, you're being "glass half empty" Barney.

Some might say there day off is worth more than $300
Full time employees feel a much higher level of commitment and accountability IMHO.
    Ya get what ya give.

i don't know whether to laugh or cry at this thread. I don't know if this is even relevant but sometimes we have to stop, look around and have a reality check. We live in a world that is ruled & dominated by the almighty dollar.

For various reasons my lot in life is the Disability Pension. That is my sole income. So for what it's worth for comparison, I get $544.60 p/f. I pay $240.00 p/f rent. Every other thing in my life, food, phone, internet, electricity, clothing, medical, entertainment (none) vehicle expenses, etc has to come from the remaining $304.60. That is on average $21.75 per day. That is it, no other income, no investments, savings etc. (Some scumbags from the past saw to that).

I'm not having a whinge, as I accept that this is what life has dealt me for the time being. I am sure there are a lot of people in a similar situation to me, so think about this when you think you are not earning enough money. If you open your eyes, life has a way of putting things into perspective.

Amen to that and it's really what I've been trying to say all along.

    Thanks!

    Go finish your poo!
I read it all, when it comes to money I'm always interested

I have skilled in there professions friends who grizzle about there financial position, yet when offered an opportunity aren't willing to take the risk, I've been through numerous, 6 figure jobs, worked for many months without payment, as a risk, I took the risk and sometimes reap the rewards, I still complete jobs that come in well under $20/hr due to misquoting, i may not know about teaching as a career, but working for money I have an idea, some hang **** about my way about it, but I do as I thinks best for myself and my family

Anyhow, it's what I do, not you, you came here for opinion, you got it

By the way, just the other night I was asked to make some repairs on a truck, I did so, after 12 hours at my high paying job, in return?.......a truck load of packing sand to a mates, worth it for the money? He'll no, worth it for the returns I get from indirectly helping my mate, yes

I've had a reasonable amount to do with dealing with labour, running crews on and off since I was 20, the joys of short notice labour, you have to deal with when they don't show, it's your problem, not theirs, if you needed them that bad, they'd be full time

Oh......it was a good pop, no clean break, but good none the less

After reading this thread and notice that for many people $40 per hour it is not good enough I begin to understand why there are so many people in the dole
