By the lack of posts from about 2.30PM until 8.45PM yesterday Sunday 16/10/2011, I would guess the site was down.
I have been having trouble over the last few days with IE8 timing out while trying to log on. Only site I log on to that has the problem

Considering AULRO is a landy forum with a couple of turncoats that drive other makes
and you compare it to the others which cater more for the Pootrols and toya's , jeeps etc, AULRO it has a bigger audience

    persistent slowness?

the place flies for me and i use wireless at home, iphone when out and about and osx on a pc at work

all my connectivity is via telstra

the server hasnt hit 25% cpu load since the upgrade

i/o on the server hasnt hit 40% since the upgrade

so you have me other than it being the size of your isp's link into pipe networks with 1 caveat and that being the third party advert servers that google, yahoo and digital niche use and i have no control over the about of bandwidth they dispense.

as far as i recall EVERY traceroute that people have sent me shows any slowness is at their isp's gateway to pipenetworks IX

satellite links will always suffer on a site like this with dynamically updating content due to the inherant latency in that method of transit.

    so will dialup

some internet security packages have an affect, some don't

how much you or others are downloading on your link has an affect

if you have persistent problems send me the info and i will wend my way thru it and see if i can see anything out of place.

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/faq.php?fa...e#faq_siteslow

i can not afford to run the place without the adverts, so they are a necessity and are not going anywhere.

gold subscribers have access to a low latency skin that negates the advertising and speeds the place up on slow links

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/faq.php?fa...levelsandrates

guests on the system ie. people who are not logged in see a cached version of the place so they dont impact system load and is why there are much fewer guests in the online list these days.

i might add that some are experiencing session cookie issues with the markets area and i have an issue with the files area. other than that the place seems to be going well from my side of the fence.

apart of pipe's power issues on the weekend that is
