I would prefer the Td5 over the 2.2 though, however both go well when chipped, and the 6-speed is nice to drive.

Plus - given your habit of buying faulty merchandise, you may really need a warranty!

When the warranty runs out you can always have a TDV6 conversion done...
$13k? More like $25k difference from what I've been told. However the better AC would be an advantage. It is pretty rudimentary on earlier Defenders.

I'd need a better warranty than LR can provide! I had better buy an Hyundai.

    That reminds me.
Would that TDV6 conversion kit with the new engine mounts and the
stand alone ECU fit a Discovery 1 ?

The TD5 90's on carsales atm are all ~27k. If you have found one for $15k then buy it ASAP!

    Really?

Edit. I think it is $18k, not $15K.

They are silly prices, Ben. As you intimated, it would be better to pay the extra and get a brand new car.

Hmm, name change. I could go incognito.

I'm checking price. I may have been misinformed.

Probably. $15k is the bottom end of trade in prices according to redbook:
