    Severe weather warning, S.E. Qld

    Just a heads up for all in the area
    SEVERE WEATHER WARNING FOR HEAVY RAIN

    For the S.E.Coast ,Wide Bay @ Burnett, Darling Downs @ Granite Belt


    8.45 pm FRIDAY 24 Feb 2012

    Heavy rain, thunderstorms, flash flooding, in the mentioned areas. Locations affected : Gympie, Kingaroy, Sunshine coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Warwick.

    Next WARNING 11pm AEST. www.bom.gov.au Bob

    Severe storm warning, 10.03 pm fri. 24 Feb. At 9.55 pm very dangerous thunderstorms near --- Tewantin, Eumundi, slow moving, Very dangerous thunderstorms will affect Montville, Mapleton, Pomona, @ Kinkin by 10.25@ SE. of Gympie , Maleny , Kenilworth @ Lake Cootabara by 10.55

    I am on the southern edge of it and we have had 75mm in the last 12hrs. Tewantin had 200mm in a couple of hours.

    Same up this way. There has been consistent heavy rain most of the night. I reckon we have had at least 300 - 400mm since about 2300 but I haven't been able to get out to check the raingauge yet although I suspect it will be overflowing. Sure to be some flooding this morning. Keep safe everyone.

    As we have been renting for the last year and looking around for some where to buy it has been very educational looking at a place in the dry then driving past in the wet - it has narrowed our view on what to buy considerably

    Yep, you're not wrong there Blitz. I assume you're looking in the JB area, - there's a number of parts of the JB surrounding area that suffer badly in the kind of rain we've had over the last couple of weeks.
