The xj was available as a 2wd it's not a new phenomenon

I also had a '70 J3000 truck in the late eighties, early nineties as my work truck and it was 2wd too, (found out it was one of three imported in 1970 for a mining job) and I'm pretty sure the Jeepster was 2wd back in the fifties but they seemed to be the exception to the rule.
Turn off the electrickery in the D4 to make it really interesting.....
Sure and the RRC cannot use its CDL.
