    Indian Myrna birds

Yesterday while I was out mowing the nature strip,I noticed that the indian myrna population has flourished around our area.
Instead of a few there must have been 50 of these pests rummaging around on next doors front lawn.
Would love to find a way to get rid of them permanently, but from all the reports that I have read, they will keep coming back to haunt us.
Has anyone found a solution to these damm pests as I like to see the different native birds that come to feed of the native bushes/trees that are in my area.

    Cheers

You can rent traps for them and then you gas them with your car exhaust = all legal in many jurisdictions.

we have those blighters also, they are sickly looking, some have only 1 leg and like they have mange.
I find they they like open areas and in wooded areas they don't seem predominate. I read some where this is the case.
I did sit back with once when I poisoned a european wasp nest with powder and as the wasps fell out onto the ground the hungry mynas were gobbling them up.

here is a web site about them.

Over the last 20 years I've noticed these nasty little buggers invade our airspace. They are also very smart. They are aggressive to other smaller birds and displace our native's. I would very much like to know how to trap them without harming other birds.

One by one if you live on acreage. Good practice and keeps your eye in.

I guess you are aware of the difference between the similar Noisy Mynah & Indian Mynah.

Noisy Mynahs can be quite irritating as well but they are protected.

Ok...funny this topic has come up. Living in Sydney/NSW as a kid up until late teens....had heaps of them......as someone noted...rats with wings. Having lived in QLD last 15 yrs haven't noticed them.................till recently. Has anyone else found this or have they always been here? I had actually thought were more a NSW problem. They were good target practice when I was growing up out Annangrove way as a kid ,

    regards
