Prices were anywhere from $26 - $30k according to the owner, but it was a dealer only auction.

I didn't think that was still legal?

Anyone who pays the fees is entitled to bid.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

OK - That's very interesting!! A whole lot more affordable than the $60K-odd prices that were on the ex-NZ army Unimogs.

I have to start working on softening up Mrs Spud so she can begin to visualise one on our driveway in the near future..... Wish me luck I may have to get the kitchen painted before I bring up the topic.

Better look into getting my Semi-Rigid License too. That'll be an extra expense.

    Cheers
    David

I haven't heard of any going through the auctions down here in SA. Wonder how much you'd have to pay a dealer to go along on your behalf to do some bidding?

With Manheim-Fowles you can pre-bid or bid online during the auction similcast. The problem is that if you win, you need to have the item removed from the premises within a couple of days.

There is an ex-Army 4x4 Mitsubishi Canter with workshop body at the Darwin Auction Thursday next week.

I would not expect mogs to be sold off in any numbers for another three to four years. It was only announced recently that the Defence was going to enter into negotiations with RMMV.
