Vomit !
If Hindustan Motors can still make the Ambassador
which is basically a 1958 Morris Oxford
and New Royal Enfields are still being made in India like they were in 1955
well why the hell can't Tata leave the bloody Defender alone, holy crap don't they get it, its like a sacred cow !!!
If they have to modernise it why can't they follow Jeep Wrangler, at least it still looks like a Jeep !!
I'd sooner buy a a 76 series Cruiser
Looks more like a Freelander than a Deefer.
Is does look better than the 1st attempt, but would like to see it in all the different models to make my mind up(am looking at 130 HCPU to buy)
cheers
2014 Freelander SE TD4
2003 Range Rover TD6
92 disco tdi manual sold
95 disco tdi auto gone
By removing all the things that make a Landie so good, they've created something . . . POINTLESS!!!!!
I'm just going to go into business rebuilding Defenders, as obviously there won't be anything similar in the future.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
looks like a cross between a D1 and a D3/4 with a touch of Freelander thrown in![]()
The defender is a work utility, that concept, whether it is good bad or indifferent isn't and that is all there is to it.
I dont have a problem with the new concepts at all but they are not a defender; a defender is what you buy for working out of as well as having for touring play etc but ulitmately it's roots are a work horse
To me it is obvious that landrover no longer intend to cater to the worker
