I Have a new 2012 LC200 GXL, and after having 4 Prado’s I purchased it because it was the big brother of the Prado and was a natural upgrade for me and heading north form Tasmania was supposed to be the “King Off The Road”
Well what a mistake, This car filled up with so much dust it was crazy, dust in vents, dust in jacks, dust inside every door panel an absolute joke..
Then in a creek crossing only 650mm deep (wading depth of 200 series form Toyota is 700mm) water ****ed in all doors wetting carpets and obviously electrical.
After every warning light coming on and one problem after another with electrical, the car not starting properly, Car heater not working, dust still everywhere making the car look 20 yrs old I had enough and have taken to a Toyota Dealers in NSW on my way home to tassie to get them to look at.
I asked three simple questions
1) How dis dust and water get in?
2) What have to you done to rectify the problem and fix any damage done from this?
3) Can you guarantee this will not happen again..
This is the answer I get
“Our Technical Field Manager (T.F.M) from Toyota Motor Corp. Australia (TMCA) has been out this morning and taken more photos and carried out further tests on your vehicle. He is going to submit a final report to his manager who is currently on sick leave and then await a response from him. In our TFM’s opinion the water and dust ingress is subject to a number of environmental and vehicle usage factors and in this case is beyond Toyota’s control. Therefore in his opinion TMCA will not be able to assist with the rectification of water and dust ingress.”
This car was driven on gravel roads and in compliance with the running conditions of Toyota warranty guidelines.. absolutely disgusted with this reply and insistent on taking this further I asked for a report as to why..
This was seven weeks ago and still nothing except a 100K Boat anchor..
The Dealership in Tasmania has been very good to date and will be looking at it next week again to see if they can assist but as for Toyota Customer experience what a Joke..
Oh What a Feeling!!
