PS, I won't hold my breath.

The bank wants collateral, how about your rig? I doubt it would fit in the Banking Chamber/Strongroom but worth a try if you are that skint.

If it were me, I’d do that and quietly stash away the “insurance” money for a new compressor while you wait to see how long it lasts. Like most things, if you have the insurance there you’ll never need it. Worst case you lose the gas and are up for a new compressor, but while you wait you still have a usable vehicle. At the end of the day it’s a 15% premium on the cost of a new pump. I’d take that gamble.

Just this minute I rcd an E-mail from my bank in Swaziland requesting me to also ask you for your Password. I know it is not normal bank practice but it seems it is SA Zone Policy. It was signed Fred Mobutu so I reckon it is genuine.

Rest assured when they get it your account will be finalised. For good I assume.

They assure me that alternative storage for your Collateral has been arranged. It is in a well Guarded Aircraft Hangar out in the Bush somewhere. The Bank Staff are armed with AK47s & Self propelled Rocket Launchers so it really does sound Genuine, don't you think? I was told also that the Bank staff are fitted out with Tailor made uniforms of a nice Camouflage design.

You can see they are very concerned with Customer image.

Can't workout how to get a drop or two of oil for the O rings.

    Will this do?

A drop or two is about right. We used to use White Oil, as well as use it for our hair. Caltex stuff bought by the 4 gallon drum. That might be a tad too much for you unless you plan on doing this stuff for a hundred years.

Any light oil should do the trick but just a smear or two wiped over the seals. It is only a lubrication so the seals (O rings in SEQ speak) slide together seamlessly in their slots.

    Hope this helps.

I might be able to dig out some Vasoline Hair Tonic or Californian Poppy, Des. Do they have use by dates?

If you can't find the right stuff, bit of clean oil out of the old compressor,or the new one, will suffice.

I can't see how to get oil out of the old compressor, Paul. The air con is all back together now.
