As I can't see that anyone has mentioned them yet, I would likr to add Kings of the Sun to the list. Some fab rock tunes in the early 90s such as Serpentine and Black Leather. Not to mention that singer Jeff Hoad was such a hottie!! Mind you, he turned out to be a bit of a bad 'un got done on drugs production charges last year so that turns me right off him!

Another name I haven't see on the list (unless I missed it) is Rose Tattoo......

Armoured Angel (along with Alchemist who kept the ball rolling) have done more for the Aussie extreme music scene than most bands mentioned have done for their 'genre' so far...Metal For The Brain. MFTB was a brain damage benefit gig that ran for 15 years. Best festival I've been to bar none.

    Destroyer 666
    Karnivool
    Cog
    Dungeon/Lord

According to Henry Rollins, Beasts of Bourbon outperformed Nirvana at the very first Big Day Out, just a few months after Nevermind was released. Pretty big call!

On a known but alternate list I'd have

    1. V.SpyV.Spy
    2. The Church
    3. Triffids
    4. Midnight Oil
    5. Nick Cave
    6. Dave Graney & the Coral Snakes
    7. Radio Birdman
    8. The Sunnyboys
    9. Radiators
    10. Wolfmother
Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes is one that I just can't stand. Makes me cringe and change stations whenever I hear him.
