there seems to be no shortage of these maniacal idiots on the road. Here';s another TT piece showing these people have no regard for anyone:

that is strange Mick,
On my limited number of trips to VIC, my experience had been quite the opposite... I was particularly impressed with driver behaviour in the inner melbourne suburbs.
But then again I came with experience of the NSW situation :o , where the selfish and dangerous will do aything to get one vehicle space ahead.
Maybe it has deteriorated everywhere in the last few years with a lot of these jerks unable to distinguish between when they are playing a computer game and when they are driving on the roads.
Note the 'Templars Code' sticker on the back window. This is the opening spiel on their website:
Templars Code is a local clothing brand after as much support as possible. We have fresh designs that stands for good morals
It doesn't matter whether its drivers from any state in Australia the fact is there are looney's everywhere.
As I have always said the gene pool needs more chlorine.
The nutter on TT was definitely chemically enhanced. What I would be more interested in is the events just prior to the attack. Did the other driver do something to provoke it or maybe was just a **** driver who cut the other guy off.
Something must of happened but being a ex cop from either NSW or QLD he wouldn't to able to tell the truth if he tried.
Well, it was all over "Sunrise" this morning, including an interview with the driver of the camera equipt vehicle,it will be interesting to see if the black ute driver does actually front up at the police station.
and in reply to the post by Mick_Marsh would be interesting to know if he still holds a license and from where.
The bigger worry is... the seemingly laid-back response, content with waiting for the person to present himself....in the morning. It is so un-enthusiastic that one could be forgiven for thinking that this behaviour is viewed as minor, - or the perpetrator is an off-duty police officer. Or worse, a villain who is so well-known and feared by the coppers....that he's allowed to dictate terms.
Tell me that the 'whole story' has'nt been told !!!- Please...
Was'nt the video good enough to read the rego ? If so, then I'd have hoped for Police being at this bloke's residence within the hour. Bet they would have been if he'd shot a copper...
Any updates from over there?
More Dash cams are required, they are as cheap as anything on EBay, self installed around $50.
These things constantly record once key is turned on, the more people forward records of this behavior to the police or TV, the more likely a decrease will start to occur.
It just ain't gonna happen by itself its all becoming more frequent and violent in every State.
could be why he is an "ex"-cop , post traumatic stress disorder comes to mind
You have no idea of what is required to restrain this type of aggressor, I know only too well this guy would have needed more than 2 cops to restrain & cuff him, probably 4 or more if he was on PCP or similar drugs. Tasers and the like have little effect on these people.
... That raises the possibility of a new & useful thread.. on various dash-cams.
Personally, I'm unimpressed with the quality of many CCTV recordings, and I'm seeing a huge variation in dash-cams (as on you tube etc) - Some worse than useless...
Normally you only get what you pay for, but sometimes - as in the Cheap UHF CB's on the communication thread, there are screaming bargains out there amongst the rubbish...
For starters, a two-channel - front & rear - seems to be the minimum ideal.
