I think you'll probably find that those in the first videos are pretty experienced offroad and their techniques show that, especially in that type of terrain and they all look like they have modified their vehicles far beyond a run of the mill 2" lift and muddies. They have huge amounts of articulation, they have leaf to coil spring conversions, they have live axle conversions etc. They're not wood ducks, they've obviously been around and done a lot with 4WD's. In Nicks video on the other hand, they're relative newbies or tame tourers who don't do tough terrain and are on a learning curve so likewise that is appropriate for them perhaps.

Its like comparing a primary school class 4WDer to a high school class 4WDer - those in the first video know what they're on about, those in the 2nd are learning. Check out Shannon Campbell and King of the Hammer videos if you want to see a Ph.D!

Oh, and if that chick is texting while going through that..... she's been there and done that too.
    Cheers

Humm, to be honest, I think I've been there and done that, and possibly worse when I was young and first started driving, and in an old series 3 swb.

What I did notice in the Mannel vid was a new Toyota which was well set up with matching BB and Wheel carrier, of which covered the tail lights,, I would have thought the might have been a R/Worthy problem (?)
It was good to see a heap of cars with only 2" lift and no big tyre though, just goes to show with the right approach it can all be done,, but yes, had it been wet, it could have been very different.

No more damage being done than is normal on a dusty track. Can't stop all wheel spin even with softer tyres.
If you want to see real track damage check out the Kidson Track in WA where the oil drillers have forced through roads big enough for all their equipment. Same goes for many places here.
That's allowed though as all the "enviromental checks have been done and safeguards put in place" to ensure nothing is really harmed, it just looks like it!
There's no doubting though that 4 wheel drivers always get the blame for damage because they obviously don't line enough pockets of our so called leaders.

Thes whiny threads trying to start up about people wrecking the bush are rubbish

Those tracks would be getting used by people who want to drive those type of tracks

I'm actually glad to read the replies and that they are quite level headed, if its a video of people doing donuts in a public campground its different

    Nope, I've certainly seen worse.

I had to chuckle when the guy in the Jeep almost lost the back end into that bog hole.

I think the music and name 'Assassins' makes it seem worse than it is. The other has a very calm voice and quiet, easy listening music in the background and even a friendly non-threatening D2.
