Good to hear you are OK mate. Bundaberg has sure copped it over the last few years, we toured Bundaberg with my daughter and she said the recent floods went over the Bundaberg bridges. I took this piccy from the park underneath the "old" Bundaberg bridge and I was amazed at the height the floods took.

Andrew, the powers that be are a little more proactive this time. Even letting bookoo water out of North Pine! Wonders will neve cease.

Yeah, Im marooned at my property the creek is up and the Burnett River is looking to be the highest since 1942!!! so I cannot get to town or anywhere for about a week! And the power is off and the phones died but I have the aux generator for power and the satellite internet so its cool! My family has been here since 1936 so we have seen a fair bit of water come and go over the years! But it sure beats **** out of a drought!

The river at Bundy is at 7m and rising with a prediction to reach 9m !!
Looks like that it is going to be worse than the last floods
North east Bundy is in big trouble already
I cannot get in touch with my friends in Moore Park Beach, I hope that they are safe there.

Chucaro, I have just heard from my daughter who also lives at Moore Park Beach. She says all is well, they are not flooded, but the road to Bundaberg is cut so they are isolated, they have no power and no landline phone. The Burnett River is now 8.2metres and rising and a Disaster Area has been declared with the Army being called in to help. Does not look good.

My daughter called me on a mobile!!!

I just spoke to my auntie who runs a resort in Bargara and there said they are fine where there. The tornado's hit the esplanade and has made a big mess around there through the Woolworth's. There had guests go into Bundy in the morning and now can't get back.

Hope everyone else in the area is safe too.
    Cheers, David.

Sunshine all day today, although they have set up evacuation centres for locals as both bridges across the river are closed because of flooding and even residents cannot get back over to north side.

We (Nan & I) fared well as well are in a safe high spot, but a lot of roads are still closed locally.

If any locals (or travelers for that matter) need help (chainsaw, coffee, dry clothes, a bunk for the night), please stick your hand up. There are a few of us around that are happy to help.

For those a bit further south, it's windy, it's wet and it's headed your way.
