File this in "Lessons Learnt" and let it not happen again.
Mick, sorry about the mess they made of your axe. Would these be of any help?

to me thats bad etiquette due to the noise.
    similar to a generator.

im sure you are responsible and use it away from people but many campsites have the rule "no chainsaws"
Mick took it camping, I made a lot of noise with it...

It was used during the day, mainly away from the campsite - and the only other campers around had chainsaws too. That, and the never ending drone of 2 stroke motor bikes hacking around the tracks all day, and I'm sure no one noticed...

Not at all like a generator, which people use for hours on end it the evenings. We didn't even use a tankful on it, so less than 15 minutes running all up I would think.

I think our 101's made more noise in the afternoon than the chainsaw ever did.

    Unhappy

I do believe that the point of the original post has been lost as we have gone along. Correct me if i'm wrong. The campfire is not a place to put plastic and glass bottles and the misuse of some elses property. That caused demage to it{Mick's brand new axe that now needs a new handle the be used again.} Leeanne

Geez handy tool to have, done lots of track clearing with a chain saw. Benefit for all users. Like all tools it's how and when you use it. I've had campers with an iPod that was more annoying than a chainsaw.

    Thankyou.
I was hoping for somewhere a little closer to home. Although, that Adelaide one is a good price.

    Leeanne, you are absolutely correct.
But, you know how the forum goes. Tangents all the way.
Next we will be discussing how you should set up your own forum account so Marcus can keep up with what's going on.

    Litter anywhere is a disgrace.
We just spent two weeks travelling around the South Island of New Zealand and I was amazed how there is just no litter along the roads. It was absolutely spotless, they have a good reason to be proud.
Up in this corner of Victoria you could fill a chaff bag with litter between 3 or 4 white posts on either of the Sturt or Calder Highways!

    Cheers, Mick.

Strange that I haven't heard from them for 10-12 years.

    Yeah what's the go there?
I've pulled into quite a few campsites and seen trees "Decorated" with Cans and Stubbies on broken off branches.
Mindless vandalism if you ask me.
