    1996 Blackhawk Disaster

Seventeen years ago today I was flying in Black 3 when Black 1 and 2 flew into each other at High Range Training Area near Townsville. Australia lost 18 of the best that night and I will never forget. The experience changed me forever. Please spare a thought for those who served.

The aftermath of that led to the formation of the "SAS Resources Fund" by some WA citizens.

My wife assisted in setting up and serves on the board of its sister organisation the "Navy Clearance Diver Trust". Only 12 months old and already, I believe, providing assistance to 2 families.

    Take care.

My thoughts and respect go out to those involved.

Thank you for reminding me to take the time to reflect.

Please PM me your surname. I still keep in contact on FB with Mat Brandon. I am back at 5. We had a little service yesterday. I will go to the Palmetum this afternoon to pay respects at the memorial there. I was working last night.
