The Volvo will be interesting with the 4.4 V8. Be interesting to see how it performs and develops in comparison to the other motors. Will this all bring about parity issues again.
    Cheers

I can't remember the year but it was in the 80's. There was a Volvo running around at Bathurst. Many drivers complained that it was a hazard, due to its speed.(lack of)
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

They described it as a mobile chicane.
The video clip of the camera coverage from Peter Williamson's Celica has him describing it that way.

Aren't they all 5 litre V8's (with slight difference on the Merc for the engine layout) ?

And they are all limited to their torque and HP. Car of the future keeps them all similar....HP and torque are within 1% of each other and sensors mounted on the engines track this.

If Nissan and Merc could use their full tech, Holden and Ford will be dinosaurs.

Volvo entering will be good....but it comes down to the drivers eventually.

V8 supercars succession planning for when ford pulls the pin...

Holden vs holden would have been a bit boring...

Maybe LR should start racing an Evoque TDV8... That would make things interesting...

That motor will become a 5 litre.
The utes will be interesting. Jappers, Isuzu, Nissan, Toyota et al are being mooted to replace Falcon and Commodore.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Tom walkinshaw did it in 85

brocky did it in the 90,s

1996 - Australia's most famous racing driver, Peter Brock (05), drove this works 850 in the Australian Super Touring Championship against the dominant Audi's & BMWs. Later in 1996, Jim Richards (the rain master) drove the 850 at a Bathurst support event, giving Volvo their first Australian Super Touring victory. The 90's Volvo Dealer Racing Australia was managed by Queenslander, George Shepheard

Despite their denials this has been one of those 'worst kept secrets'. I'm glad they will be in it - do Volvo even sell a V8 powered car?
