Personally, I believe in fate. When your time is up, it's up. Control what you can and accept what you can't control.

Call it what you like, luck, fate, **** happens. But it happens. And it's unlikely skill will help if it does happen.
tyres coming off trucks: truck drivers fault, not luck
trucks dropping rocks off the back: truck drivers fault, no luck
Cars having a tyre blowout and wiping out the biker next to them: never heard of it happening
Big Kangaroo hopping out from the bushes in front of a car, putting it in a ditch: i'll buy that as luck, but as we all know, when in the country, you dont drive at night and slow down at dawn/dusk

however i dont think it would be an issue for either rider in the videos posted.

I've never heard of lots of things, doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

Not everyone who drives in the country comes from the country.
I've hit a roo at 10am in the morning.
    QED luck.

I'll agree that skill/experience plays a massive part in it.
But, who's skill are we talking about?
The skill of Comrade Motorbike weaving in and out of traffic at xyzkm/h?
The skill of the driver legally turning into his lane to suddenly find a motorbike in his space when a second ago it was 200m behind him?
    Skill doesn't necessarily equal safe.

It may be the truck driver's fault, but it would very much be luck when it comes through your windscreen and not the guy in front of you, or the guy behind.

And the car having a blowout and wiping out the biker alongside? Happened a few cars in front of me on the M40 in the UK about 18 years ago. Front tyre blew on a car in lane 3, car swerved left, clipping the bike in lane 2, sending bike and rider under the wheels of a truck in lane 1. Pillion passenger survived. I'm glad I wasn't first to get to him (the guy whose car I was in, a special constable, had that privilege. A bit messy he said).

If you need it explained, I doubt you'd get it; too many unpredicaibles and variables.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

the more skill you have the less luck you need
sure, skill can reduce risk but there are always external factors (whether that be someone's fault or freak accident)

to be honest i think you're a bit of a muppet (or very skilled) if you manage to hit a roo at 10am.

    1) we blame luck/act of god too much.

    2) i believe every situation can be prevented, avoided, or gotten out of with enough skill.
