The story behind this song is one of HOPE.....It seems Chris wrote this song when he felt he was at the end of his musical career in London. The music industry can be quite harsh and he had basically given up on Music. He wrote this song to mark his sad journey home to the North of England to desperately find another job.
Turns out when he arrived home and opened the door he found a letter on his door mat with an enormous cheque inside, the royalties from an earlier song.
"WOW! What a Christmas present" he said.....

That's a good trip Mike. Taking the direct route or seeing the sights? Not that there's nothing to see on the direct route.

As direct as possible for this trip. Nothing more than a transport run.

Emma is working through the Christmas period, so I’ll collect the vehicle and bring it home for her.

All going to plan should have it in the driveway the next afternoon.

I'm sure you don't need to be told this, but there are about a bazillion suicidal marsupials between you and home.

Don't worry about the goats, they'll get out of the way...

Good Lord, is that Mr Holder? I saw, errr, heard Slade at the Melbourne Showgrounds maybe 50 years ago. It was ****ing down. "Mumma, we're all crazy now" seemed appropriate.
