Thread: H1 LED Globes

Seeing as a halogen globe's filament rests at the reflector's point of focus that led globe will just result in a wide wash of white light but no reach. Good for ricer boys trolling the main street of Hicksville, little else.

Hahah..... thats what I thought, there about 1.50 ea delivered from china on ebay, might grab one and throw it in an old rally 2000 I got in the shed and check it out.

Have a look at the basic dimensions of the bulb in comparison to the hole in the light's housing which the "corn cob" has to fit through in order to fit the bulb. I've got a similar set of H3's here, UN3F 2X H3 120 SMD 3528 DC 12V CAR LED White Light FOG Light Headlight Lamp Bulb | eBay, that are a prime example of why you should avoid Ebay when you've been drinking.

For a buck fifty. I'd be willing to purchase a set just to try them out.
I'm doubting the amount of light would be anything too spectacular. Most that I could find only pull 6w.

I dont know too much about leads but the realy bright torches use "LED Drivers" I think it's just a circuit that draws more power through the LED. The LED on it's own wont use much power or make much light.

Can you give me a link to the bulb in the first post. I'll be a test pilot.

The position of the light will just mean you get a spread beam from a spot beam light. Light force spot lights work in a similar way. The reflector is threaded to the holder and you get screw it in or out to go from spot to flood.

A function Light Farce like to tell you NOT to use or the light will break on corrugations!

The LED has so many emitters and will produce multiple light sources against the reflector making it, as discussed, a bright blob of white with SFA penetration/throw.

The key to LED performance is thermal management. No control, life, and performance suffer greatly.

so , lots of comments on how they MIGHT perform......no one has them? I like the look of the h4's for your normal lights.....
